Focus

I often find myself overwhelmed by the many things that demand my attention. So much so that I end up making little progress because I haven't given any one thing the time and energy it deserves. And over the years, I've also found that prioritizing those things lend well to my successes throughout those areas in my life.

So, why is it that when the burdens are high that I forget to prioritize, subsequently becoming overwhelmed?

Surely there are numerous reasons why. However, it's most likely that I attempt to quickly put out (what I feel are) fires, only to discover that the process in doing so cannot be done quickly. This compounds my feeling of being overwhelmed and again, I make little progress.

My solution to this is to create a routine by which I outline my commitments/projects/responsibilities on a daily basis. In theory, it's a no-brainer, however, I believe the key to success in this area is consistency (as consistency creates habits). If you struggle in this area of your life as well, I encourage you to adopt a beneficial solution. And as we build our new productive habits, let's remember to be bold, beautiful, kind, courageous and focused along the way.

Pressing Through

I've spent the last three months consciously focusing on healing. Admittedly, life during Q4 2013 dealt some pretty devastating blows that knocked me to the ground. And day by day, through faith, family and friends, I progress in the effort to pick myself up and carry on. Met with many challenges, each day presents me with the opportunity to be the best me that I can be. Each day, I remind myself that my feelings and emotions are valid, that I am someone who is valuable and that I have a voice.

We are all remarkably human. We are beautifully flawed and we make mistakes. We know joy and we know sorrow. We have amazing resiliency and the power to change. We all have a purpose in this life and we are stronger than we ever thought we needed to be. We have highs and we have lows...and we have everything in between.

So, no matter what life throws at you, remind yourself that healing requires conscious effort, as well as time. Try not to rush the process. This is your life. And while you're living your life, remember to be bold, beautiful, courageous, conscious, strong, forgiving, focused, uplifting, kind and well!

An unapologetic journey.

For the first time in a really long time, I don't feel like I'm wasting my time. I sincerely believe that I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be. And this past year and a half has been incredibly challenging...for lack of a better phrase, in seemingly every area of my life. So I spent a great deal of time rewriting the vision and the journey brought about a rediscovery of self. And from this rediscovery of self, I have made conscious decisions about my life, the vision and my future...and for none am I apologetic.

The one thing that really stands out to me about this journey is that sometimes you have to walk away from poisonous relationships, regardless to whether they are friendships or partnerships. Sometimes, you have to remove angry and negative people from your every day life...even if they're family. Why? Because you are worth it! You are worthy of all good things and you deserve to have everything your heart desires!

Work hard, stay focused and if you believe in a higher power - trust in it. Understand that some people don't know how to be encouraging and/or supportive. And understand that ultimately, that isn't your problem. Live with purpose, set goals/milestones for yourself and keep moving forward. Life shouldn't be a race unless you want it to be. And progress is still progress no matter how slow it moves. So be beautiful, be bold, be encouraged, be inspired, be kind, be courageous, be encouraging, be supportive, be conscious and be well!

Love & Peace
